NEW! A5596808 Lobo | German Shepherd / Mastiff Mix
#A5596808 Lobo is a jumbo sized dog with a big heart and a lot of love to give! At 110 pounds he’s one of the biggest dogs at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center, and he needs a strong handler because he does pull on leash and hasn’t had much training. We think he’s a German Shepherd mixed with something bigger, maybe a Great Pyrenees or a Mastiff. He doesn’t like harsh corrections (yelling No, for example) so for training he needs positive reinforcement and encouragement to learn what he needs to know. He loves treats so that will help him learn quickly too. One of our volunteer’s favorite dogs, Lobo deserves a great life with daily exercise, playtime and affection as a valued indoor dog.
– Adorable floppy ears
– Tan and black, big head and huge paws!
– About 2 years old, neutered male
– Came as an owner surrender on December 1, so he needs out!
– Shows signs of housebreaking and already knows Sit
– OK with other Large Dogs
– Recommended for Gentle/Dainty playgroup
– Health waiver required for mass on abdomen (shelter says likely benign)

Our Mission:
United Hope for Animals is dedicated to reducing homelessness among companion animals through spay/neuter, shelter support, photography, video and networking of shelter animals in Southern California. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization working to end homelessness among companion animals by supporting shelter adoptions and spay/neuter programs. Through our Shelter Support Program, our volunteers photograph and video shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption significantly. Our volunteer Adoption Coordinators help facilitate adoptions of shelter pets. United Hope for Animals supports rescue, spay/neuter and networking of shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption. UHA is not a shelter, but supports shelters to help increase visibility of animals who might not otherwise be seen.
