Caring For Rats: Entertaining Pet Rats

As requested, this is a video with two suggestions on how to keep your rats entertained. Rats are very intelligent animals, and when we get them as pets we need to accept that mental stimulation is an important part of their care. Box forts/castles are fun to build and nothing compares to watching the way rats zip around in them. Pea fishing is fun and a great way to cool rats off on hot summer days. Some rats may be frightened of water at first, but usually with repeated exposure will gain confidence. Some will eventually plow straight into the water as Ollie does, while others will always be cautious or uninterested. This is part of what makes rats so great – They are all unique!
