Danios fish are constantly zooming around in the aquarium, the largest affordable size of the aquarium should be used. To start with you can have a school of 6 danios in a 10 gallon aquarium.
Tank Setup: Danios are known to be hyperactive swimmers. They are also quite a little jumpers so ensure you have a tank cover for sure.
Water pH Level: The Danios present in the market today are mostly bred internally and hence are a pretty hardy fish. They can live healthily in the water with a pH level between 6.0 to 8.0. Which is soft to medium hard water.
Water Temperature: The water temperature can be maintained between 65 to 77 F (18 to 25 C) for the Danios to live comfortably. Although the higher side of this temperature (around 25 C) is best suited to improve the appetite of the fish.
Water Filtration: A sponge filter or a hang on back filter is suitable for a Danios fish aquarium.
Food: The Danios will eat nearly anything that fits their mouth. In the wild they feed on small crustaceans, insects, worms and algae. For the aquarium Danios you can feed them with floating flakes, pellets and a mix of occasional live foods to mimic their diet in the wild.
Number of Fish: The Danios is a schooling fish and should have a school of at least 6 Danios in a tank.
Tankmates: The Danios can be kept with other tropical fish species like the swordtail, neon tetras, hatchet fish, platy, guppy and corydoras catfish.
