Glowlight Tetra Fish Care
This is my guide on glowlight tetra care. Aquarium fish like these are awesome. I suggest you feed your fish quality food. I feed all my tetras the Omega One brand flake food.
Added Conversation on fish tanks:
I used them and had no issues with dying, the issue was that they are sold as something they are not, starts of as a nice carpet and in a few months they grow to 2 feet long which doesn’t make a very nice carpet.
I don’t know who said you can’t use seeds. The main problem with seeds is some grow, while many others don’t and will eventually rot. It is why people grow them in small posts and then transfer the tiny sprouts to their tanks.
What’s over filtration? 125 display with a 55g sump and an fx6. Going to be an all male peacock/hap tank. The set up was my Christmas present to myself. Lol
Edit: Thank you all for the kind words! Since I few asked, the fx6’s main purpose right now is to instantly cycle my tank. I had it on a different one I took down. I didn’t just transfer the media since I’m going to try out a fluidized bed in the sump. Maybe I’ll keep the fx6 on maybe not. We’ll see. I also plan on eventually wrapping the stand in plywood to give it the finished look it needs but I don’t mind it right now.
I think it’s a great investment. To be honest I wouldn’t use anything less on a 40 breeder. It creates the perfect amount of flow in my tank without the use of power heads or anything. Probably a little to strong for my neons they stay towards the bottom now and some other fish but with the loaches and what not I had before it would have been perfect.
I had the fx6 on my last tank so kept it. was going to use the 55 for something else but ended up not so figured I would just use it. I wanted the extra volume anyway plus it’ll make a good place to keep the overly aggressive fish should I have any.
Guide on glowlight tetra Care. Honestly it’s just always been fascinating to me since I first saw the king of diy on YouTube use it years ago. Plus watching the cycled media tumble is just mesmerizing. Wow! That looks awesome! And honestly my dream to do to my 125.
How did you hook up the sump, I’m trying to get ideas on how to do it.
Over filtration isn’t a problem. But why do you want to clean an extra fx6 when you have a sump which is easy to clean? yes and no. You can’t “overfilter” water. But it gets to the point where just sticking filters on you’re really not doing anything but burning electricity. Your fish only create so much ammonia, and you only have enough BB to process it.
