Taming a Baby Budgie | Most birds love Millet and is frequently used as a training aid. Bigger birds love almonds and walnuts.
If you are considering adding a Budgie to your home, purchase one from a reputable breeder or pet store. A hand fed and hand raised budgie will be tamer than a parent fed Budgie.
Be aware that when a breeder says they hand feed, it might just mean they hand feed and do not handle them and put them back in the brooder, which does not make the baby bird tame.
Make sure the breeder hand raises which means that they handle the baby and teach the baby to step up at the appropriate age and abundance feed. A hand raised baby should not be afraid of people and should step up easily. At first the baby bird will be a little nervous and would have to get used to its new surroundings and family.
