Bathing A Rabbit | Pet Health Advice
Need to bathe your rabbit? Find out how here:
In this video, PDSA Vet Fran demonstrates how to bathe your rabbit in 8 simple steps.
Step 1 – Start by putting a bath mat or towel down to stop them slipping and then ask someone to gently hold them on it.
Step 2 – Usually, itโs their bottom that needs washing. So hold their front end up whilst supporting their back end.
Step 3 – Remember, never put your rabbit on their back, as this is really scary for them.
Step 4 – Gently pour warm water over their dirty fur. Make sure itโs no hotter than hand temperature.
Step 5 – Keep soaking any mucky areas until the dirt is soft and can be easily removed with a sponge or soft brush.
Step 6 – Be as quick as you can so your rabbit doesnโt get stressed or cold.
Step 7 – Once youโre finished, wrap your rabbit in a towel and dry them off as much as possible.
Step 8 – If itโs a cold day, put your rabbit somewhere warm, away from draughts, until theyโre properly dry.
