Tip #1: Use eco-friendly reef rock & substrate vs. live rock. There are now over 5 types of eco-friendly rock that are available to hobbyists; weโ€™ll touch on what we recommend specifically.

Tip #2: Select a colorful community of hardy, soft corals. We recommend starting with soft corals and LPS corals before moving into SPS corals. This video offers specific types we recommend.

Tip #3: Research and select a community of captive bred fish. Itโ€™s now possible to get a whole variety of captive bred fish for your aquarium. Learn what to keep in mind when selecting tank fish – and some specific examples.

Tip #4: Use a sustainable cleaner cew. It usually consists of creatures like snails and shrimp. Learn other good examples of clean up crew creatures and why they are so important.
