Synopsis:
This Marine Depot standard control board has been sitting around in my house for about three months now. And I still didn’t know what a french cleat was. It was time to tackle my 40 gallon quarantine tank.
I took the 40 gallon breeder tank from Petsmart and drilled an overflow. Custom hard plumbing into the MD Elite Sump by Trigger Systems. A fancy macroalgae refugium stocked with a pod habitat, rubble rock, Miracle Mud, Reef Nutrition pods, and Algae Barn Pom Pom.
But I still had all of the wires and controllers just sitting on the floor, and I hadn’t even connected the auto top off unit.
I knew it was time because I had finally placed a coral shipment, and I didn’t want to have to deal with the wire management later.
The thing about wire management and control boards, is it takes soooo long for something that seems so small. So naturally I put it of and put it off, always tackling seemingly bigger projects.
We took that control board, did a fun dry run mock up on paper, mounted all of the controllers, installed, a whole bunch of LED lights, and voila, it looks soooo good!
