How To Clean Your Sump – Saltwater Aquarium Tips for Beginners

In this episode I am going to show you how to clean your sump. A sump is the heart of your aquarium filtration. It typically houses a skimmer, heater, return pump, rocks, sand and a refugium. Sump cleaning is a very important part of your aquarium maintenance. Cleaning your sump regularly will help avoid detritus buildup, reduce nitrates and a clean sump just looks better. The aquarium sump I am cleaning in this video is the Trigger Systems sump. This tutorial will work on any sump weather its an acrylic sump or a glass sump.
