🦗feeder brown house cricket🦗 care guide: there are a couple feeder cricket breeds the first feeder cricket that is very popular in the pet trade are the brown house cricket which are sold in two pet stores petsmart and petco. I get my feeder crickets from petsmart and sometimes from petco they do very well. when I buy a new batch of the crickets I quarantine them to make sure that they are eating okay and that they are very healthy. the second feeder cricket that I have seen on some websites are the field crickets they have alot of protein in them. the third feeder cricket that I’ve seen before is the red feeder crickets they are a little more aggressive and lizards like them. the fourth feeder crickets that I’ve seen and have bought them before in California are the tropical feeder banded crickets and they seem to live longer my 6 leopard geckos liked eating them. feeder brown house crickets likes to climb on everything and so any type of crates are fine I use egg crates and cup holders they also like hiding inside toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls and they enjoy climbing on them for food dishes I use any size caps that I save for their food and that is fine. for feeding brown house crickets to leopard geckos plastic feeder bug tweezers are really good and won’t cut the geckos mouth since leopard geckos have a very strong bite. it can be found at petco, petsmart and Amazon prime.

cricket food care guide: there are many things to feed feeder crickets they can be fed romaine lettuce any dark greens are good for them, kale which is very healthy for them and has healthy vitamins in it they can have carrots as well squash, zucchini they can also have a lemon etc. there are also a variety of cricket food I feed them the flukers cricket food as well and some reptile food they can be fed as well and they can eat fish flakes I feed them the goldfish flakes. there are other cricket food that can be found on Amazon prime and they have a great variety to choose from. the big containers of cricket quencher are great to have and last longer than the smaller cricket quencher containers. another food that crickets like are oat flakes

cages for crickets: I recently upgraded to their new critter keeper with the handles and I like it that is good for keeping 40 crickets or 50 crickets now for keeping 100 or 1,000 crickets I highly recommend using a 10 gallon tank for having that amount and another option as well is using a tubaware plastic bin which is pretty good as well if keeping over 1,000 crickets. the most important thing is cleaning out the cricket cage cleanliness is very important and to keep the crickets very clean. I clean my cricket cage twice a week to make sure that there aren’t any other crickets lying around in the cage.

substrate for crickets: I recommend using paper towel I use paper towel all the time in their critter keeper
