Exclusive VIP tour for Polo Reef followers!

If you think you have seen everything that PoloReef has to offer, you are in for a surprise that will be hard to top. Due to our work to help in education and reef restoration, SeaWorld allowed us to be the first to see and video their incredible coral breeding and restoration facility.

We are confident this behind-the-scenes tour is unlike anything we have presented. SeaWorld’s Florida Coral Rescue Center is the world’s largest Caribbean coral restoration facility and houses over 700 of the most endangered corals, including eighteen different species. And like most spawning facilities, their goal is to keep these corals alive and have them spawn and grow out the offspring for implantation back on the reef.

One other interesting observation is that while many of us have only seen glimpses of these corals in the wild and under sunlight where they may have looked drab, SeaWorld is growing some of these under LED lighting and heretofore unseen colors and the beauty of these forgotten corals have amazingly become apparent. In addition to bringing you this incredible facility’s video, you will also see the discussion of what they are doing to repopulate the southern reefs and why this is so important. They also discuss their strategy for bringing back the coral population with these corals that are at present considered functionally extinct.

If you need more than this, we will also show you the Orlando, Florida, rescue center for manatees. SeaWorld has rescued over 40,000 of these animals over the years and, as a result, has more knowledge of them than anyone. Our tour guide, Justin, was a wealth of information and allowed us to share all of this with you. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we did making it.
