Electric Blue Crayfish Care – Aquarium Guide

Electric blue crayfish care starts with setting up your tank properly. They need heavy rock piles with lots of rock cover. Crayfish are nocturnal and prefer to hide during the day. Without the proper hiding spots in your aquarium, will result in your crayfish being stressed.

These are absolutely stunning tank mates to add to your tank. I’ve edited on where to buy these from! A company called Imperial Tropicals now sells them on amazon! They are amazing!

Hopefully this helps you in taking care of your electric blue crayfish. These four factors will make a world of difference when caring for crayfish.

More Questions: Ok so our power went out at around 8:30… It’s now 11:48 and still out. They’re working on it. What do you guys do in cases like this? Just curious. I’m a worry wart. I’m just glad I haven’t gotten my fish yet, but I have my live plants, I just put in yesterday.

Plants will be fine for a couple days without light. I power my sponge filters with a battery powered air pump. The HOB are out of luck. Tanks stay warm enough at our house temp if ac is off to be okay( 73/75).

Put the filter media in the tank to keep it wet, your plants should be fine for a few days.

If your lights go for a long time, you can create a temporary air pump to ensure your fish have oxygen and temporarily move some of your bio media into the tank to ensure they have biological filtration. This video shows how to make a temporary air pump.

Wanting to set up a nano tank. Really love the look of the Fluval kits like Flex, Edge, and Spec. Came up with this stocking for a Edge 6 gallon. Thoughts on either this stocking or the fluval kits anyone? TIA.

That has not worked for me. I bought it and put it in my canisters. Over a month now and no change on my 200 gallon. Lol how much purigen are you using lol 100ml package isnt nearly enought for 200g Holly Henry and is the purigen placed in the top tray of the canister.

I do have one that the algea loves to but I prefer it have a nice greenish coat. Just soak the pieces you like in a bucket or trash barrel for a month or so. An interesting method I use, put the driftwood (if it can fit) it the water tank behind a toilet. That way its water gets changed frequently with no effort on your part. Then, just boil it once more before you put it in the tank for good measure.

First test of my 75 gallon freshly resealed and braced with under gravel/powerhead filter. Eventually I’ll switch it to a canister but it’s looking good, less than an hour ago, you couldn’t see the pump or the plant.

Electric blue Crayfish are so cool. What are some of the outcomes you had with archer fish with cichlids the cichlids being small still and the archer fish still being small I want a fish that stays at the top but also won’t get picked on by my cichlids. My local fish store has a bunch of little puffers for $7.49 each. I thought they would be way spendier…. some day little puffer some day I’ll bring one of you home. Need to research them a bit more I think. Green Spotted are beautiful they have such an amazing glow but also they are brackish water fish when they get older. Just a heads up & they live happier in a school.

all u need to do is see if it is compatible with ur fish if yes den get one as it should be in a tank on its own for a week and while its in der on its own den do the research cuz der aint nothing worst den doing some research den going to buy it and there all gone happens to me all the time so this is wot i do.

Petco right? If they’re not far from you go in store and ask them to order a set of 75 gallons. My petco will order me certain fish they don’t normally sell when I let them know I wanted one. My understanding is that they will put it on their log to order for the next shipment if you let them know.

Question. I’ve had an African cichlids tank that has been established for over a year, nor is it my first tank. I was surprised tonight with two electric blue acara that are larger than the Africans, the acara came from over 45 mins away so returning them isn’t really an option. Is there any chance of them surviving in with Africans as I know they are generally kept by region. There are no local pet stores where I live to even return them to a lfs to be adopted out. I adapted them to the water and put them in, then a one of the Africans started chasing. I then took most of the decor out to cut down on territorial fighting. I just don’t want a 50$ gift to be dead by morning.
