Discus is another popular freshwater fish type among aquarists and fish keepers all over the world. They belong to the Genus Symphysodon and there are a lot of species and colour varieties in the market. Usually, they are distinguished by their body colour. Discus fish has a disk-like body shape. Native to the Amazon river basin in South America. Classified under the family Cichlidae. In Sri Lanka, there are numerous colour varieties in aquariums. Red Checker Board, Red Anaconda, Blue Diamond, Snow White, Red Snake Skin, Marine Blue, Leopard Snake Skin, Pigeon Blood, and Mosaic Leopard are only a few of them.
