Creating A Bamboo Shrimp Paradise & Introducing My Newest Shrimp! 🦐

Join me as I transform this massive 55 gallon tank into a stunning aquatic paradise for Bamboo Shrimp and a new, rare addition to my collection – the Vampire Shrimp! 🧛‍♂️🦐

First, I strategically place plastic egg crate dividers to support heavy stones, ensuring the safety of the tank. I choose fine-grained sand for my hillstream loaches, giving the tank a natural look. Watch as I carefully arrange river stones, creating a dynamic, river-like environment perfect for my Bamboo Shrimp.

The tank features carefully selected wood that complements the tank’s dimensions, leaving enough space for a moderately high-flowing area.

I glue the wood down using aquarium-safe glue, hiding contact points with Marimo moss. Anubias plants and Dwarf Chain Swords add a touch of greenery, while Narrow Leaf Jungle Vallisneria serves as a background plant. The tank is filled, and a Hygger Aquarium light is added for optimal plant growth.

After dechlorinating the water and adding liquid fertilizer, disaster strikes – the wood comes apart! 😱

Over a week, I cycle the tank, preparing it for its new inhabitants. Meet the Forktail Blue-Eyed Rainbow Fish, White Cloud Mountain Minnows and Harlequin Rasboras. And, the stars of the show – Bamboo Shrimp and the rare Vampire Shrimp! 🌟🦐
