Anubias Plant Care for Beginners



Anubias plant care starts by giving this plant. Adequate amounts of lighting and nutrients in the water column. This plant mainly feeds from the water, so ensuring that there’s nutrients in the water is ideal. The Anubias plant is a rhizome plant and does not need to be planted into the gravel or sand. Make sure that you have an aquarium light is around 6000K spectrum. With a mixture of the right lighting and nutrients in the water, Anubias plant care will be extremely easy.

The Anubias plant prefers in aquarium way around the 6000K lighting spectrum. This means that the color of the lighting is extremely white. This color of lighting compares natural sunlight to the best of LED lighting’s ability. Anubias plants can withstand super low lighting, but it doesn’t mean that it thrives on that. This plants can withstand extremely low lighting and stay alive, but I would advise using medium lighting.

Most aquarium plants demand nutrients in the soil or water. The anubias plant only demands nutrients out of the water. It consumes all of those nutrients into the roots and works its way into the plant. Is what is known as a rhizome plant. Rhizome plants prefer to be attached to a surface like a stone or drift. From there, the roots eventually start to grow into the pores of that surface if possible. The roots will be unable to grow into the pores of a stone, obviously, but it works extremely well with wood.

The most common practice of attaching the roots is by using superglue or string wrapped around the item. you only have to attach the roots short term because they will eventually grow into the surface and attach themselves long-term.

This is an awesome plant for any beginner or experienced fish keeper. The Anubias plant is extremely beautiful and contains large luscious leaves that can add to any fish aquarium aesthetics. You only need basic lighting and minimal nutrients in the water from this plant to thrive.
