ADDING SALT TO A FRESHWATER AQUARIUM
๐ – Video Description:
Adding salt to a freshwater aquarium
The next time your fish is sick, the remedy may be no further away than your kitchen table. Common table salt (sodium chloride or NaCl) is a useful remedy for the prevention and treatment of various freshwater fish diseases. It helps heal injuries, promotes slime coating formation, improves gill function, reduces nitrite uptake, reduces osmotic stress, and is even effective against some external parasites.
However, some species of plants and fish cannot tolerate much salt, so it should be used with caution. In these cases, some of the same benefits can be achieved by using commercial slimming products (Stress Coat).
Stay tuned, because there will be more news in the next videos…
