Oscar fish are personable fish with lots of character. Unfortunately, they are often mistreated. Let’s make sure they are well taken care of.

Here’s 3 tips for oscar fish care:
1. Give them a big tank. Give them at the very least, a 55 gallon tank. A larger tank is neccessary if there are multiple oscar fish. They start out small, but they grow really fast. In fact, they can grow an inch a month.
2. Get a good aquarium filter. They eat a lot of food, and produce a lot of waste. They have a lot of body mass, so they naturally produce a lot of waste. Get a filter with sufficient flow rate and filtering capacity.
3. Give them a balanced diet. Some people feed them live feeder fish, but this should not be their main diet. You need to feed them a quality cichlids pellet as their main staple food.

Treat them well, and they’ll live well over a decade!
