The key to french braiding your own hair is to start with a few strands of hair, one from each side and then the third strand also from one side or the other. Each time you pass by the center, you add more hair from that side until all three strands are about equal and there is no more hair to add until you braid like normal down to the ponytail. I would say it’s easy peasy but I have been doing this braid for decades. In England braiding is called #platting. Send me photos!
