DOG EAR HEMATOMA BLOOD DRAINING . DO IT YOURSELF AT HOME
.. Update Healed-Ear-Flap .. 20-April-2022 ..
.. 14-January-2022 .. ( 02:10 ) .. the Draining Begins .. My 10-year-old Pit Bull Mix developed an Ear Flap (Pinna) Hematoma from shaking his head, due to infected Ear Canals .. The Violent Head Shaking caused blood vessels between the skin layers in the “Pinna”…the Ear Flap…to rupture, and the accumulating Blood then formed this “Ear Flap Hematoma”, or Sack of Blood.
Wanting to Learn More About This Injury and needing to save some money, I watched several YouTube Videos showing how to drain ear-flap hematomas, and I decided to try it myself.
It Was Very Very Easy to Drain .. You Can Do This Yourself at Home.
First… Sanitize the Ear Flap with Isopropyl-Alcohol, and let it dry.
Then use an 18-Guage Needle and Insert the Needle with the “Bevel Up” so that the Blood can properly drain .. Gently Squeeze the swollen ear-flap as the Blood is draining.
PLEASE NOTE .. I drained this Ear-Flap twice in 3-days, and the Blood Kept Re-Filling the Ear-Flap.
So I called my Veterinarian and he told me Not To Drain The Ear-Flap Again .. He said the Best-Way is to just leave the Ear-Flap full of blood, and it will be Gradually Re-Absorbed by the Dog’s body.
So that is what I did, and 3-months-later .. 20-April-2022 .. the Swollen Ear-Flap is much, much less-swollen, and it Looks Great. ..
It is a bit Crinkled-Up, but it soft, and pliable, and most-importantly, No Longer Painful.
Best to You and God-Bless All Homeless & Neglected Dogs in This World ..
