Boost your dog's health with egg shells! 🥚🦴
Don’t toss those egg shells! Instead, use them to give your furry friend a powerful health boost! Adding crushed egg shells to your dog’s diet has incredible benefits that go beyond just recycling.
Egg shells are a fantastic natural source of calcium, essential for maintaining strong bones and teeth. Calcium also plays a vital role in nerve transmission, muscle function, and blood clotting, contributing to your pup’s overall well-being.
The best part? It’s easy and cost-effective! Simply save egg shells from your meals, clean them thoroughly including removal of the eggshell membrane (thin film lining the inside of the eggshell), and leave to dry. For long term storage, bake the cleaned shells at 175°C (350°F) for 10 minutes to ensure safety. Once clean, crush them into a fine powder.
For a medium-sized dog, start with ¼ teaspoon per day, and gradually increase to ½ to 1 teaspoon daily. Mix it into their regular food, and watch them enjoy the added texture and flavour.
By incorporating egg shells into your dog’s diet, you’re not only promoting a sustainable approach but also ensuring they receive the essential nutrients they need.
