ABANDONED DOG WITH WOUNDED SNOUT: New dog comes to VOSD Hospice for geriatric medical care
A dog lover spotted an abandoned dog with a swollen and wounded snout – it was infested with maggots. The poor pooch was rushed to a veterinary hospital, where he underwent treatment for weeks. However, despite the best medical care the doctors said his snout wouldn’t heal fully. Since the dog couldn’t be left back on the streets nor given for adoption due to old age, the rescuer requested VOSD to admit the dog.
Like all senior stray dogs who don’t have a home or hope, we admitted ‘Aidan’ to the VOSD Hospice without a surrender fee. The sweet boy seemed thrilled to be in a new home where he could leave the worries of the past behind and enjoy a new life.
Aidan loves going on walks and exploring the vast open areas of the sanctuary. Apart from daily socialising and exercise sessions, he also receives routine check-ups from our in-house medical team to ensure his nose isn’t infected. With nutritious food and a safe, hygienic environment to live in, Aidan is and will continue to lead a happy and healthy life at VOSD!
You can support us in caring for elderly and infirm stray dogs like Aidan who had lost all hope in life, by sponsoring their food & medical treatments. All you need to do is click on and donate INR 5,000 (~$61) one-time or monthly.
