Today I am going to cover my three most common reasons for weight loss in the cat. Losing weight in an older cat is common, so it is really important to figure out why the cat is losing weight. Weight loss in the cat is most commonly caused by three conditions, but weight loss is not limited to three three conditions: Hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and kidney disease.

In this video I cover what all three of these disease look like and how we go about diagnosing and managing these disease. When a pet owner notices weight loss in their cat they should go into the veterinarian and make sure it is nothing serious.
