Cat Care Tips

Overgrown cat nails. Why aging cats need help with nail trimming.

I am a small animal veterinarian who shares the cases I see to help educate the public on pet care needs. Older cats often donโ€™t use scratching posts and donโ€™t shed their nails normally. Because of this they become overgrown. They can grow so long that they pierce the paw pads. This often results in a painful infection that wonโ€™t resolve until the nails are trimmed. Then we treat for infection with antibiotics and foot soaks. Along with changing from clumping litter to shredded newspaper. For more free pet care help find me at pawbly.Com
