Smokey was just two weeks old when we found him in the hills of North Carolina while we were on a trip in the Smokey Mountains… thus his name, Smokey. He was covered in fleas, shivering, malnourished and all on his own. ???? The moment my kids fought over holding him, we pretty much knew he’d be ours… but we kept assuring ourselves that we weren’t making any decisions yet because we didn’t know if we wanted a pet (parents, ya’ll know how that goes!) ???? Smokey won us over though. ???????? He loved on our kiddos, melted right into our arms and our hearts, and I even carried him around inside my shirt that week in the cabin (he was SO tiny and so cold!).
