FIV, or Feline immunodeficiency virus, is a virus that affects kitties worldwide. Roughly 3% of cats worldwide are infected with FIV. Chances are when you take your kitty for their first vet visit, they will ask if your cat has been tested. Even though it sounds pretty scary, from what I’ve read, it really isn’t too too bad, and your cat can live a long happy life if they are FIV positive! I thought that was great news! We also dive into whether FIV is contagious, and if can FIV positive cat and live with an FIV negative cat.
