Gross Cat helps out in a big way against enemies early on with high health and attack power, as it can outrange them. For example, enemies like Hippoe and Gory have almost no defense against a well-protected army of Gross Cats. Gross Cat decreases in use through the Stories of Legend stages with the increased amounts of very long-ranged enemies, especially if the player already has strong Area Attack units like Paris Cat or Drama Cats.

Gross Cat can be extremely useful at holding its position when stacked and behind an array of Tank Cats, due to the Gross Cat’s decent attack power and the Tank Cats’ extreme health. While doing this, you can level up your Worker Cat and build up money for a big push.

True Form
Macho Leg Cat changes its focus to being an all-rounder unit. Its health, attack, range, cooldown, attack speed movement and cost are quite good; it has no real weak point. Macho Leg Cat also has notably higher health than many ranged Cats, even more than Eraser Cat when hypermaxed, all while staying at the relatively cheap cost of 600¢, making Macho a good unit for money-intensive stages early on.

Later into the game, Macho can be used as a cheaper replacement for Lizard Cat due to its shorter cooldown time, in trade-off for less damage, range and health, which is an ideal trade-off in some stages. Furthermore, Macho Leg Cat can be very useful in stages with Alien enemies, because of its high health and increased effectiveness against them.

Unfortunately, Macho begins to lose its relevance later on. Alternatives like Cameraman Cat, Paris Cat, Pizza Cat, Can Can Cat can offer better performance and have their own advantages that each can outclass it, most prominently in Uncanny Legends, Slapstick Cats are more viable in most stages. Even worse for Macho, most mid-to-late-Stories of Legend and Uncanny Legends enemies often deal extreme damage, further reducing its utility as it would then be a waste of cash.
