The general rule of thumb for stocking aquarium fish is, one inch of fish per one gallon of water. There are many other factors that influence the actual number of fish you can keep, but this is a good way of estimating the capacity of an aquarium tank. The important thing to remember when stocking aquariums is to never overstock it, especially a 10 gallon tank.

While you can’t keep a lot of fish in a nano aquarium, there is actually a lot of different types of fish you can keep in it. It’s not just betta fish. Small schooling fish such as neon tetras in an aquascaped nano tank be absolutely amazing.
