conditioning a positive response to touch (behaviour modification, force free, R+, dog training)

Orla isn’t keen on being touched, but being a curly coat breed who loves water, and whose humans have allergies, she needs regular cleaning and coat maintenance.
here I’m teaching Orla being touched by a towel is okay. this is a few sessions in, we started with me holding a towel and moving it around near her first. here I touch her with the towel, carefully watching for signs she’s worried like lip licking and moving away. any sign of discomfort I stop. I pair every touch with a reward, at first they go together but at this stage we’re doing towel touch, then reward
