Freshwater Gobies Get Rough

Freshwater gobies get super excited over some raw turkey thrown into their aquarium. There are two species in there: monkey goby (Neogobius fluviatilis) and toad goby (Mesogobius batrachocephalus). Toad gobies (also known as knut goby) are the ones with flat heads.

It’s a 60 gallon Dniester River Bitope. The other fish are: 5 spined weather loaches (Cobitis taenia), a colony of Amur bitterlings (Rhodeus sericeus), stone moroko (Pseudorasbora parva), and a female Australian red claw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus).

The stone moroko (also known as the topmouth gudgeon) is an invasive fish from Asia. The rest are natives, with the exception of the crayfish (obviously)
