Rapper Costa Titch Last Video Before Death. He said it all
Another loss for the South African music industry has occurred with the passing of rapper Costa Titch. Reports surfaced on Saturday, 12 March 2023, that the musician, whose real name is Costa Tsobanoglou, had passed out onstage at the Ultra music event.
Costa, who is also a dancer, was born in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga in 1995 and is famous for various songs such as Nkalakatha and Activate.
Just before midnight, entertainment analyst Phil Mphela verified the news of Costa Titch’s death on Twitter, prompting a cascade of somber replies from colleagues in the business.
Junior Da Rocka, a fellow musician, and Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema have both seemingly made mention to the rapper’s death.
Even as the music community mourns the loss of Kiernan Forbes, better known by his stage moniker AKA, rapper Costa Titch has passed away. The South African Police Service is still looking into who shot him outside a restaurant in Durban. Curiously, a song titled “Ultra Soft” features contributions from both Costa Titch and AKA.
Big Flexa, his debut amapiano track, peaked in views late in 2022. Alfa Kat, Banaba Des, Sdida, Man T, and C’buda M are all featured on this track. The music video for the song features the rapper dancing expertly alongside members of the local dance crew Soweto’s Best.
YouTube has confirmed that the video has reached 30.7 million views, surpassing the 30 million mark set by Amanikiniki by MFR Souls, Major League DJz, Bontle Smith, and Kamo Mphela.
Fans of Big Flexa’s work on TikTok and Spotify have also been impressed. More than six million people have listened to the song on Spotify, and over 105,000 people have utilized the sound effect on TikTok.
