Fish Care Tips

Boesemani Rainbow Fish Care

Aquarium Bosemani Rainbow Fish Care is super easy. These are some of my favorite fish right now. Buy them some quality food. Spend a couple extra dollars.

More aquarium Thoughts:
Sexually mature and peak condition. Now some may argue that they have seen betta in cups and doesnt look good but have bubble nests but what they didnt realize is maybe those nests are few days old when they are still in good condition. Now try to see an already sick betta like havin dropsy etc. will they make bubble nest? Mostlikely not. But if your betta is doin good but dont make bubble nest maybe he is not into breeding yet or the tank is not ideal (water flow, many companions in community etc.) Just my opinion.

Tank Mates –

My boy didn’t start making bubble nests till I added an Indian Almond Leaf that put out tannins. I guess all it took to make him happy enough to make one was that lol. Poor thing has a huge tumor on him too but still going on strong and happy. Im sorry to always be bothering you guys with the same things. Im just indecisive, and I’m new to all of this, and I’m still learning and adapting…

I’m debating if i should get a snail or shrimp for Indy’s tank… Im working on my phobiasz Will the shrimp reproduce?( If i were to get more than one, of course) Will ALL snails lay eggs? Even if I get just one? (Im leaning more towards the Nerite (Zebra) snails cuz their eggs r better for me to handle visually).

Can I have bosemani rainbow fish with shrimp? How many shrimp would you recommend for a 5.5g tank? And would you recommend to get both, shrimp (1-3) and a (1) snail for a 5.5? Or should i stick with just one kind? I will be adding Anacharis to the tank, and a few other Anubias to provide “shelter” from Indigo. Debating if I should add the Amazon Sword aswell. I believe it will take too much space. I still have not put his airplane or his ceramic hide.

The tank has some a small driftwood, a Rosette Sword (its growing a lot), a Anubias, a small Water Wisteria and a medium moss ball. I will be moving things around the tank for better placement. Best ways to lower Ammonia? I was slacking on water changes for this one tank cause it’s in a difficult spot. I really should just move it. Everything else looks great but the Ammonia is HORRENDOUS. Help?

Prime! 😀 Detoxifies ammonia for I believe 48 hours. Could be slightly off. Pregnancy brain so I don’t remember off the top of my head
If i don’t have time to do water change one day I top up with fresh water and prime, it gives you a day or so to get your butt in gear to do it. Pretty sure ammonia will still show high but it just makes it non toxic to your fish for a short while.

I would think it would do it’s job and detoxify for the time it says at least to give you a day or so to get round to the tank. I get the struggle I had one in a stupid place and the exact same thing happened I ended up putting off cleaning it. Ended up moving it and it’s waaaay better. It’s my son’s betta (though I talked him into this one) and the damn tank is on top of his bed (since the back of his bed has like.. a shelf thing). Ugh. I feel like a horrible pet owner. My other two betta tanks are PERFECT in all water parameters.

Was told my 2 yo betta has a bacterial infection. I thought for the past 3 days he was just constipated/bloated. I placed a live plant from Petco (Amazon Sword, which is safe for betta) into his tank a bit over a week ago. I believe it may have been contaminated. I’m so upset I didn’t catch this sooner. Treated the water with bacterial infection remedy drops. He’s still breathing but hardly swimming. Won’t eat. Very discolored. I hope he’s not in pain. This sucks to have any animal suffer. I feel I’m just watching him die… is there any hope? Thanks for any support.

Something is wrong with Merlin and I am terrified for him.
He’s suddenly very inactive (which is very unusual for him) and he’s lying on his hammock or on the substrate all day.
He’s not eating.
He’s nipped all his tail fins off.
He looks slightly bloated.
He’s showing symptoms of dropsy.
I need advice and quickly!
No signs of pine-coning.
He can swim fine, but when he stops swimming he floats in weird directions (upside down etc).
The symptoms began to develop four days ago and it has only gotten worse since.
10 gallon tank with 60% water changes weekly. Heater keeping tank at 25 degrees Celsius. Unsure about parameters.
Photo was taken when he was heathy. I will get updated photos this afternoon.
