Ramshorn Snails (Planorbella sp): Ideal Freshwater Aquarium Clean up Crew

Both reef tanks and wild freshwater ecosystems exemplify how naturalistic beauty is the culmination of a great many critters all thriving in ecological harmony. I believe this mindset justifies the existence of various ‘pest’ snail species in freshwater aquaria–as their biology most oftentimes works towards the long term establishment of a benevolent tank microbiome.
