The Belgian Shepherd is a dog originally bred to herd sheep, which means they need a lot of physical exercise but also, they need to use their brains in order not to become destructive and generally unhappy.
A few minutes of mental exercise can tire them so much better than 2 hours of walking. That’s why I teach Rancho all those tricks. They really come in handy when he has an injury or when we can’t go out for some reason. And they are an amazing way to bond with your dog as well. You both learn to understand each other much better.
