How do you care for a big dog with long hair on a daily basis?

On a daily basis, go over the dog and check for hair matting, if there’s any matting, especially behind their ears, I will take those away either by clipping or scissoring, or trying to brush them out. I will check them over for ticks, in this area of Maine, we have many deer ticks because we have many deer here obviously. If it’s a good day and the dog’s coat is okay, I won’t bother to brush them, I will do them maybe two or three times a week. Also, I check Scarlet’s feet because Newfoundlands have webbed feet for swimming.
