Help Your Senior Dog With Incontinence (Urinary accidents)
Here’s how I help my dog with urinary incontinence while also controlling accidents in my home. Cosette has difficulty controlling her bladder as a senior dog so I have the following regimen to make this condition a lot less stressful and uncomfortable for everyone.
1. Talk to your vet – there are medications that may help your dog better control their bladder – Cosette is on Proin and Incurin per her veterinarian
2. Ask your vet whether supportive supplements are appropriate for your dog (each dog is different). I use Native Pet Calming Bladder Chews with Cosette:

Washable AND disposable diapers – For daytime use, I place a washable diaper on Cosette to catch the dribbles and for longer periods of time without a potty break or for overnight, I add in a disposable insert for extra protection against heavier leaks. 4. Wet wipes with enzymes to break up urine and eliminate odor. I use these Nature’s Miracle Lavender Deodorizing Bath Wipes:
5. A washable pee pad on top of her bed at night in a confined area:
6. Increased water to keep Cosette hydrated and lessen the likelihood for bladder and kidney issues with increased potty breaks so she has the ability to eliminate outside
