Fish Care Tips

The benefits of large water changes on your aquarium!

Hey guys and girls!
Todays topic is a bit different, its all about benefits of doing large water changes in aquariums!
In the last few months I have been experimenting with different water change sizes and I have now come to a solid conclusion with great results!

πŸ‘‡ Full information sheet below πŸ‘‡

(pros/Benefits of large %50 – %60 water changes)

* clear, good water quality
* healthy active fish
* limits risk of disease in the aquarium
* encourages the species of fish that are hard to breed, spawn.
* encourages fast growth rate for small/young fish
* adds vital minerals into the water body
* decreases the presence of unwanted smells
* makes the aquariums look amazing!
* reduces amonnia/nitrates (essential for heavily stocked aquariums such as grow out/baby tanks)

(cons… of large %50 – %60 water changes)

* water volume limits (uses to much water)
* no time (but if you don’t have time for fish don’t keep them as the depend on you to live!)
* water is too cold ( it is not advisable to do big water changes if the water you replace it with is very cold or bad quality) (in my opinion don’t do a water change any bigger than %20-%30 if the water you replace is below 18c-20c because it will greatly impact the temperature of your aquarium and may affect the inhabitants! When I do the 50-60 percent water changes the water added back into the aquarium is never below 20c-23c. in middle of winter sometimes its advisable to do regular smaller water changes around %10-%2O , 1-2 times a week) that s just my opinion though. πŸ™‚
* laziness πŸ™

Thanks for watching 😊
