#40 Camping / Caravanning With A Dog: Must Know Tips.



What is the most important thing when you live full time in a caravan with a dog? Caravanning with your dog… things you need to know! Like most things in life, camping and caravanning are better with a dog, or dogs, In principle, caravanning in the UK is pet friendly, but there are some things you need to bear in mind when planning touring, camping or living in a caravan with your dog. I talk about our experiences of doing all these things with our lurcher Diesel. The video has two parts: general advice about caravanning with dogs and tips on living in a caravan full time with a dog. On most sites in the UK, dogs are welcome, but there is usually a fee to pay. Often caravanning sites have designated dog fields, where your dog can be off lead, but most sites require the dogs to be either tethered or kept on lead, even on your pitch. Camping with a dog, requires some prep, and I talk about useful equipment and recommend tried and tested gear.
When it comes to living in a caravan full time with a dog, it can work, provided you have time and space to take of your doggo! Living in a small space requires more walk to keep your pooch healthy and happy. Luckily, we have time for it, as we both have part time campsite jobs, but working full time in a high season, may be a challenge. In general camping with dog or living with a dog in a caravan, are lovely and with little planning should be smooth. If your dog is reactive, we do not recommend starting vanlife, and constant moving with your motorhome, we tried ,#vanlife, with Diesel, and it was not ideal for him however if your dog is a social butterfly, he or she may love it.
