Small Animal Care Tips

Easy budgie/parakeet care for beginners and busy people Part 1

Possibly the worst quality video on YouTube but hopefully one of the most helpful for budgie novices.
Things I’ve learned for optimal budgie care, efficient cleaning, and happy birds, with tips and tricks I wish I knew when I started, especially as a busy working mom — the most efficient methods, tools, supplies are critical!
Part 1 and unedited….
UPDATE:  I replaced the newspaper with these cage liners. If you can afford them, do it!
Why? Safer for birds, super easy, custom sized so you don’t have to lay newspaper like a puzzle and they don’t scatter around, liquid really doesn’t bleed through, super fast easy cleanup…you just put a pile of them at bottom of cage and remove the top layer every day.
No problem with bleedthrough. Just a bit if water spills, but never have I had to remove more than the single top liner to clean. The gooey splats do not soak through.
I put them on top of bottom bars, even though they recommend under/in the tray because I don’t want the birds touching dirty bars and I don’t want to scrub them every day 🙂
I am not a sponsor and don’t know the sellers, get nothing from this, but this stupidly simple product has made such a huge difference for me that I have to share:

Measure carefully before ordering, use the actual size of area you’re covering not the cage measurements. Even if you’re off by 1/2 inch on your first order I think they’re well worth it.
