Caring for Peanut Rabbit Kits – A Story of Faith
This is the inspiring story of Faith, our peanut bunny kit who lived for 13 days. Peanut rabbit kits suffer from a birth defect common to dwarf breeds that prevents its pituitary gland from releasing enough growth hormone. This is the result if the kit getting two copies of the dwarf gene from its parents. Hence, peanut kits don’t grow and don’t normally live beyond a few days. Faith lived for almost two weeks in spite of the odds – her mom refused to feed her and she was the lone survivor of a litter. Taking care of her was a joy and she was an amazing bunny. This is her story.
