According to schedule 4 of the Wildlife Protection Act (1972) ,

Caging any Indian bird is illegal as they are categorized under wild animals and are thus protected by the wildlife protection act. Only exotic and foreign birds don’t fall under this category.

A parrot being most common species, comes under this act. Most people don’t know that they are making an offense by caging this birds.

Its cruel to keep them in a cage. Birds are meant to fly in the sky not to be caged.
